The following paper was written by the creators of this site in an effort to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on farms in San Luis Obispo and northern Santa Barbara Counties. During the creation of this site, the students noticed many common trends farms saw at the beginning of the pandemic which led to another study to interpret how the pandemic has shaped farm operations and finances over time. The research study was published in the FFA Agriscience Fair and placed in the top three nationally. To learn more about the impact of the pandemic on local farms, the full paper is below.
