Robinsong Farms

Robinsong Farms located in Templeton grows and sells a variety of staple/storage crops including:

  • squash

  • melons

  • tomatoes

  • onions

  • potatoes

  • sweet potatoes

Before the coronavirus pandemic, they were mainly a wholesale farm that sold a lot to restaurants and food services, such as schools. Undoubtedly, the food industry has suffered greatly as a result of the pandemic and Robinsong Famrs is no exception. Additionally, storage crop season normally begins in summer and ends in the spring, meaning the pandemic kicked in just as the storage crop season was coming to a close. Therefore, as locals yearned for local produce at the start of the stay at home order, Robinsong Farms did not see a big bump in sales because they were out of produce.

However, the manager says while their wholesale sales have gone down, their grocery sales have picked up. They are currently selling through harvestly.co which is where you can purchase their items and have it delivered to you! The manager shared that their products are best consumed fully cooked in oil over high heat until golden brown, to create delicious, caramelized, roasted staple foods.

They are continuing their wholesale sales as well, so if you're interested in their wholesale program, you can contact Robinsong Farms by email at robinsongfarms@gmail.com. For more information, you can head to their Facebook and/or instagram page, @robinsongfarms.

About Us:

Welcome! We are so glad you are here. This site was inspired by our desire to help local farmers and business owners on the Central Coast get through this difficult time. We began this project in April 2020 when we were freshmen at San Luis Obispo High School, enrolled in an agriculture biology class, which requires a project related to agriculture every trimester. We have continued this project throughout our time in high school.

We hope our time aids in shining a light on local farmers and business owners on the Central Coast while significantly decreasing the amount of wasted food.

Additioanlly, we'd like to thank our agriculture teachers Mrs. Bates and Mrs. Evans for their continued support.
