MM Organics

Since 1997, MM Organics has been selling a variety of walnut products including:

  • Raw, Shelled Walnuts,

  • Chocolate Walnuts,

  • Walnut Butter,

  • Walnut Oil,

  • Walnut Flour, and

  • Sprouted Walnuts

The owner shared that she has 100 acres of walnut trees and they are all certified organic. She says her favorite products are the sprouted walnuts, which come in a variety of flavors such as chili, curry, cinnamon, and plain. They are gratifying, satisfying, and simply a delight!

For more information about their products, to contact them, or place an order, you may head to their website mmorganics.com. Their products can be shipped anywhere in the US, most of which are eligible for free shipping. In addition, they have a small farmstand near their orchard, located at the intersection of Adelaida Rd. and Hidden Mountain Rd in Paso Robles. They have a small selection of items in their refrigerator and they use the honor system, so you can take what you like and leave money in the money box. It is definitely the preferred method during the COVID-19 crisis.

Speaking of COVID-19, MM Organics could be seen at numerous markets such as the Cambria Farmers Market on Fridays; however, the first month since the shelter-at-home order began, they didn’t attend any markets. Now, they have resumed attending the Monterey Farmers Market, MPC, on Fridays, located at Del Monte because of COVID. They are also attending Aptos Santa Cruz on Saturdays from Nov till April/May, but they don’t plan on going to the Cambria market until Governor Newsom lifts the shelter-at-home order.

On the other hand, they have seen a dramatic increase in sales as a result of COVID-19. The owner said they have never been this busy in 25 years, in part because of their competitive prices, certified organic products, and strong website that has been operating for the last seven years. She added it has been like her busiest days before Christmas, plus some. She’s working 14 hours a day, seven days a week, in order to meet the demands of the community during this time. You can also find her on Facebook at mmorganics. Thank you for supporting businesses like these, as well as our project.

Best,

Emily & Talia

About Us:

Welcome! We are so glad you are here. This site was inspired by our desire to help local farmers and business owners on the Central Coast get through this difficult time. We began this project in April 2020 when we were freshmen at San Luis Obispo High School, enrolled in an agriculture biology class, which requires a project related to agriculture every trimester. We have continued this project throughout our time in high school.

We hope our time aids in shining a light on local farmers and business owners on the Central Coast while significantly decreasing the amount of wasted food.

Additioanlly, we'd like to thank our agriculture teachers Mrs. Bates and Mrs. Evans for their continued support.
