Templeton Valley Farms

Templeton Valley Farms is a 5-acre, certified organic, sustainable farm located in Templeton, CA. For over 50 years, Templeton Valley Farms has been growing a wide variety of vegetables and fruits with simplicity and nature in mind. Today, their wide array of 50+ products can be purchased at their farm stand located at 880 Climbing Tree Lane. Learn more about their farm through the video below:

They grow: kale, beets, carrots, parsley, cilantro, dill, green onions, bulb onions, artichokes, garlic, lettuce, radish, swiss chard, arugula, potatoes, melons, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, basil, yellow squash, scallop squash, zucchini, anaheim peppers, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, poblano peppers, cucumbers, flowers, honey, fresh eggs, eggplant, nectarines, peaches, plums, apples, pears, apricots, blackberries, and raspberries.

The owner says, "if you are looking for something in particular, please contact us. We just might have it!" They can be contacted by phone at (805) 234-6912, by email at templetonvalleyfarms@gmail.com, or on Facebook/instagram @templetonvalleyfarms.

As can be seen, there is something for everyone, and the owner shared that some of her favorite ways to prepare what she grows includes: grilled eggplant; grilled squash; watermelon or cucumber in water; heirloom and cherry tomato and cucumber salad; winter squash baked in the oven with butter and maple syrup; dill with salmon; broccoli steamed or sauteed; frozen raspberries and blackberries in a smoothie or with granola and yogurt; pesto with basil; and fresh apples and peaches.

All of their items are priced between $2 and $28 (honey). Their number one best seller is their salad mix, so head to their farm stand to check out their items! They are open on Fridays (9am-5pm), Saturdays (9am-3pm), Sundays (9am-3pm), and Mondays (11am-4pm).

If that doesn't work for you, they also have a CSA box program that consists solely of their own grown produce which is always 100% organic. They offer weekly or biweekly boxes for $30 each, which you can pick up at the farm stand on Fridays, or at a location on Higuera St. in SLO. You must commit to four boxes upon sign up, and you may sign up by contacting the farm directly.

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, they are no longer recycling boxes, egg cartons, and raspberry & blackberry boxes. In addition, they are encouraging contact-less credit card payments, hence they are no longer charging an additional credit card transcation fee. All of these added expenses do add up, so be sure to support local farms like Templeton Valley Farms.

The farm stand and CSA program at Templeton Valley Farms is open and available, so be sure to check out their delicious produce selection!

About Us:

Welcome! We are so glad you are here. This site was inspired by our desire to help local farmers and business owners on the Central Coast get through this difficult time. We began this project in April 2020 when we were freshmen at San Luis Obispo High School, enrolled in an agriculture biology class, which requires a project related to agriculture every trimester. We have continued this project throughout our time in high school.

We hope our time aids in shining a light on local farmers and business owners on the Central Coast while significantly decreasing the amount of wasted food.

Additioanlly, we'd like to thank our agriculture teachers Mrs. Bates and Mrs. Evans for their continued support.

Talia & Emily
