The Luffa Farm, which began in 1999, has grown to become a destination for people around the world. The farm started as a hobby, when the owner, Deanne, quickly realized that the activity has the possibility to provide a wonderful, educational experience for the community.
The farm is currently selling luffas, hand soap, lavender neck wraps, foot soaks, and more. If you would like to see the full selection and prices, you can visit theluffafarm.com.
Where luffas sold in stores first undergo a treatment process that causes the natural texture to become destroyed, the luffas at this farm are natural, which results in a luxurious, soft, washable, and plant-based sponge.
In addition to selling these products, Deanne guides free tours that last from 15-30 minutes to anyone that comes by. Emily and I have personally toured the farm and were in awe of the luffa making process and the effort put into the farm.
Recently, there has been a major decline in the number of visitors; consequently, business is slow as the farm is partially dependent on the educational tours. During the coronavirus, the Luffa Farm has needed to adjust to online and over the phone orders. Before this change, the employees worked on average 40 hours per week, now, only 10 hours.
If you wish to learn more about the Luffa Farm, or the unique process of growing luffas, visit theluffafarm.com, contact (805) 343.0883, or email information@theluffafarm.com. The farm is sending products directly to homes. Support local businesses like this one during this difficult time. In times of crisis, nothing can be accomplished without hope.
Thank you,
Talia & Emily
